While the project took a bit longer and cost a bit more than we expected, in the end it was worthwhile for the peace of mind of knowing the job was being done thoroughly, carefully and professionally. She started off the process with architectural drawings, design plans, all the way through to the final finished build! Our experience with Refresh was fantastic. These were the main things that made all the difference:

1. Tina, our Designer helped us make practical decisions about the layout and functionality of our bathrooms. She also recommended products when we didn’t have a clue what to get.

2. Danielle, our Project Manager was amazing. Her planning and management of the renovation meant we always knew what was going on and kept everything on schedule. Even when there were slight delays, they did not affect the overall timetable. The project started and finished on the exact days it was supposed to.

Michael explained his process which initially seemed a bit over the top, when compared to other quotes we sought - we learned to appreciate how much value his feasibility study can provide versus others who literally hand wave and with experience will give a quote. Thanks to his consult, we realised we would probably be better served if we waited for a bit more money to come in before engaging his services. I look forward working with Michael, especially as he is a 'one stop shop' versus other players in the market who will do A but not B and we just don't have time to go picking further tradespeople for small things. Refresh Renovations Surrey did an amazing job fitting the bathroom pieces I had selected and making my vision come to life. We had had some issues with another bathroom which had been fitted by other builders, so I came to Refresh with some very detailed requests. Kelley and her team fulfilled all the requirements and made having people working in the house almost unnoticeable! Revamping this tucked away bathroom in a very old house posed plenty of problems, but there was nothing that had not been foreseen nor anything that caused any issues- a first with all the tradespeople we have been able to work with! The finish has been excellent and, even with COVID-19 restrictions and delays which were out of their hands, they managed to get the project done in a timely and respectful manner. We owned a classic Auckland villa in Onehunga which required the usual renovation requirements of an aging villa. These included full house re-piling, exterior and window rot repair and paint (including new timber joinery), roof repair and paint, interior painting and tiling, and some plumbing work. Dominic at Refresh initially led us through the design and council consenting process for the re-piling work. Following this, Dominic and his team undertook all the renovation works mentioned above, dealing with all the subcontractors without us having to get involved. Renovations can be stressful (especially through COVID), and there were issues which popped up, however these were communicated and resolved satisfactorily. Dominic took care of all the council documentation, inspections as well as the final CCC. Overall we are really pleased with the results and glad we engaged Dominic at Refresh to help us through the process. We would definitely recommend Dominic and his team.

During the renovation, David kept us fully informed both by email and through the BuilderTrend webpage. We had a couple of issues that crept up during the renovation and David was eager to provide us with solutions which was most helpful. He was also helpful in resolving additional items that we didn’t realise were needed such as new curtains and replacing a blind in the bedroom. We are very happy with how the apartment has turned out and would have no hesitation in recommending David with your renovation project in the Queenstown region.

I used Refresh Renovations to make an internal access to my attached garage by knocking out part of a wall and installing a door. The wall was concrete block construction , so a bit of work there. Nadeene was a great consultant and Jason made a very good finished product. I would recommend Refresh to others.

We decided to renovate our 1979 era bathroom, kitchen, toilet and laundry all at one time. Mathew helped us with our design ideas and was very patient as we took time to look for choose our colours and fittings, something we wanted to do. Once work started he kept us informed and visited regularly to check that progress was going as planned. There were a few minor hiccups but Mathew sorted these out promptly with no stress or worry for us. The tradies were all well co-ordinated, and I think we had every tradie you could think of involved in this project, they were very respectful of our home and kept the site clean and tidy. Our work was finished on time and on budget and to a very high standard. Mathew was available to answer any questions we had and was so helpful and patient with us first time renovators. We love our new rooms, they feel fresh, clean and modern, they turned out how we had them pictured in our heads.

The whole process of renovating the outdoor space of our home was easy. Renovating in an apartment comes with it's barriers and obstacles, which we were all collectively able to overcome. Was kept informed with the project throughout. We renovated a floor, laundry room, wardrobe and sun seat. Would recommend anyone to use Corey and his team for any mid to large renovation projects.

I hired refresh to construct a one story extension and create a kitchen dinner and downstairs toilet. I wanted someone to project manage it all for and was really taken on the idea of a fixed maximum price. Sergio took me through the whole process from all the planning through to completion. I am really pleased with the result. It is a really high quality job and everything was finished off before project closure. Even though there were some complications along the way refresh honoured the fixed price. Highly recommend.

I purchased a home and planned to remove some built-in joinery and give a fresh coat of paint, but unexpectedly behind the joinery in each room were concrete exterior walls and water damage- and I discovered this when I already had a team of painters there. I was quite stressed, as I did not have a builder involved in the project, but remembered I had Hashim's contact details from a previous tentative discussion about potential reno's down the track- one phone call to Hashim and he was there with his building manager literally within an hour- we had new walls installed for the painters within 24 hours- it was so fast that painters were completely uninterrupted. Saved the day is an understatement, Hashim and John worked so hard at a moments notice to not only fix our surprise wall problem but also to coordinate tradespeople and "finish the house" to an incredibly high standard. To get the job done on a tight timeline, John was there himself mixing concrete on a Saturday afternoon, we are beyond grateful for the help and high quality work. Refresh Renovations do very high-quality work with excellent attention to detail and are very experienced builders/renovators.

Hashim, John and team from Refresh Renovations have been highly professional and a pleasure to work with. Throughout our renovation they have been open and transparent, with great attention to detail and high quality workmanship. Nothing has been too much trouble and they have found solutions to our big and small issues. We would highly recommend the team from Refresh Renovations.

We contracted Refresh Renovations to renovate our existing kitchen and convert part of the integral garage into a utility room and downstairs washroom. The work started one week before the country went into Lockdown, and quickly the work fell into difficulties with having to reduce the workers on site due to the need to maintain social distancing and problems obtaining supplies. The issues meant that the agreed timescales were eventually doubled, but despite this, the work was eventually completed. There were various specification changes due to the supply problems, but the team were very pro-active in bringing these changes to light and flexible in their approach to resolving these and other issues as they arose. Many thanks to Sergio, Christian and their always cheerful team for their work in bringing this project to a successful conclusion, and we are very happy with the final result.

Matt helped us access various tradespeople in a very efficient and seamless manner. Took a lot of stress out of a renovation involving a number of parties. Very easy to communicate with, good knowledge and very responsive. Thank you!

I was delighted, after having had what I felt were a few quick quotes from others, when Martin came and spent about an hour with me at the first visit – so important to me as someone with no other way of judging the likely quality of end results from different builders. I felt Rick, our builder, and Martin, made an excellent team, with Martin providing excellent communication, and calling on Rick’s extensive knowledge of the construction side, whenever I asked a question Martin was not sure about. The process of negotiating with the council to maximise the size of the deck I was allowed was also invaluable.
The uncertainties of timelines for completion were I feel well explained, and set out in the contract, and although exceeded to some extent, I was comfortable with this having to some extent been forewarned about delays with council approvals.
Likewise, with the budget, it was higher than I had anticipated but seemed reasonable for the attention being paid to the project.
I would strongly recommend Refresh Renovations to someone not quite sure of how to go about the whole process of translating their idea into reality, and as I think the photos show, along with favourable comments from neighbours, the excellent end result is witness to the value of the careful, unhurried thought and planning which Martin and Rick put into every step along the way.
