A smooth, modern bathroom and wardrobe upgrade that improved storage and completed the home’s final renovation stage.
This project in Frankston North focused on completing a bathroom renovation and updating wardrobes that had been left out of an earlier home extension. The homeowners were finally ready for their third renovation stage: a clean, modern bathroom and practical new wardrobes to improve storage throughout their home.
This renovation was handled by the Refresh Renovations team, who managed the design updates, coordinated all the trades, and delivered a smooth upgrade within the planned timeline.
The bathroom and wardrobe upgrades were always part of the home’s long-term renovation plan. However, during the earlier 2023 extension, the bathroom was left unfinished due to budget constraints. At that time, the space was built only as a blank room with closed doors, ready to be completed later.
The homeowners were now financially ready to finish this missing piece of their home. They also needed new wardrobes because storage had been a problem ever since the first renovation in 2020. Completing both spaces together finally allowed the house to function the way they had always hoped.
Back in 2023, the bathroom and wardrobe work was estimated at around $50,000 and purposefully postponed. When the homeowners returned in 2024 for their third renovation stage, we reviewed the designs once again, considering minor layout changes and updated prices.
Because two years had passed, some material and labour costs had increased. The wardrobes also required detailed design work that hadn’t been completed earlier. After adjusting everything, the final price came to $65,425, which aligned pretty well with the original estimate when taking inflation and updated choices into account.
The project was planned to take 5 weeks, and the team delivered the renovation within this timeframe. The only slight delay was installing a flexible power outlet inside the vanity drawer, which required a minor cabinet adjustment.
All trades were organised and managed by Refresh Renovations, including:
The bathroom design had been prepared during the earlier renovation, providing the team with a strong starting point. The homeowners reviewed the layout again, and minor adjustments were made to the plan before construction began.
The renovation went smoothly overall, with only one challenge appearing toward the end. The electrician had installed power points inside the vanity cabinet, but the cabinetmaker chose a full-depth drawer, leaving no space for a flexible power point in the sliding drawer.
It required a minor correction:
It caused a brief delay but did not prevent the homeowners from using the bathroom. The issue was solved quickly with clear communication between the team and the homeowners.
The finished bathroom looks modern and matches the home’s earlier renovations. The tiles and tapware were chosen to match the previous en-suite renovation (Renovation Number 2), creating a consistent look throughout the house, even though the projects were completed two years apart.
Key highlights include:
The result is a clean, stylish bathroom that meets the homeowners’ needs, along with wardrobes that finally provide the storage space they've been missing.
The homeowners had already completed two renovations with Refresh Renovations, so they were familiar with the process and confident in the team. Their primary concern was simply waiting until they had saved enough to complete this third stage.
The clear communication, updated design support, and reliable project management helped ensure that this final stage matched the quality of the earlier renovations. The homeowners were pleased with both the finish and consistency of the work.
This bathroom and wardrobe renovation may have been small in size, but it made a big difference in the home’s comfort and storage. By picking up where their extension left off, the Refresh Renovations team helped complete the home's long-term plan, bringing the design together and improving how the spaces are used every day.
