The Initial Consultation

To accommodate multi-generational family living, homeowner Jill knew that she needed a bigger space. To maintain her existing property, she decided that an extension was the way to meet her family’s needs.
Jill wanted a larger living area to allow for quality family time, but she was also after a separate sanctuary of her own to recharge and unwind.
Upon meeting with Renovation Specialist, Dominic Hollands, Jill knew that her project would be in good hands. Right from the start, Dominic worked with Jill to make sure that her extension renovation would be just right for her family, as well as her budget.

Budget Considerations

Given her familial responsibilities, the overall budget for her extension renovation project was an important consideration for Jill.
Dominic kept costing considerations in mind when managing the design and building of this project. An initial survey was conducted during the concept stage, and Dominic worked with his team to ensure the designs were in line with Jill’s budget from the get-go.
Because of these initial steps, Jill was confident that the renovation would deliver the most cost-effective solutions.
The initial budget they had put together was $270,000, with the final cost coming in at approximately $290,000. Jill was happy to accommodate this as the extension was all she had imagined and more.

Laying the Groundwork

One of the most challenging elements of this renovation was the groundwork. As a timber retaining wall needed to be installed to accommodate the extension, it required a deeper embedment than usual, proving difficult in such a small space.
The required changes to the interior layout also proved to be an interesting challenge for the construction team as they were working within tight area limitations.
In the end, the extension was completed to Jill’s specifications, with an extra two bedrooms, a bathroom and laundry space, and a new living area made up of two existing rooms.

A Warm and Unique Living Space

The same chocolate brown mid-century weatherboard was used to blend the new extension seamlessly into the existing home design.
The warm woods and exotic greenery used throughout the interior of the extension created a welcoming and tranquil environment. Mismatched retro wooden furniture in the living area also creates a lively and interesting space, allowing creativity and conversations to flow.
A more contemporary design can be found throughout the bathroom, featuring clean lines and contrasting black fittings.

A Match Made in Renovation Heaven

To work within her budget constraints and create a home that was just right for her family, Jill needed someone she could trust to manage her project from start to finish.
With the help of Renovation Specialist Dominic, Jill can now finally enjoy a space for her family to come together, but also her own sanctuary where she can take some much-needed time out for herself.
Dominic and his renovation team worked hard to bring Jill's vision to life in a way that worked for herself and her family. Our Renovation Specialists are there to make the entire renovation process streamlined and stress-free. We make your priorities, our priorities.
